Singapore Trip 2013. Carlton City Hotel. A pleasant stay!

Choosing a place to stay when you are on a vacation? It merely depends on indivisuals on how they pick the places. As every one has their own criteria on which aspect to look after to. As for me, a mommy of 2 kids (and clenaholic myself) I'm very concern with the cleanliness of the room I shall be staying in. I can be extremely fussy with the bed that I'm going to lie down with my husband and my darling kids. Luckily my husband is ok with that. He used to disagree with me whenever I'm acted too pembersih and too pengemas at home (too detailed in petty stuff sometimes) but when we are going out, he doesn't really mind me being myself. Alhamdulillah.. Senang nak berjalan la ini macam =D

So when we are about to book a hotel room in Singapore I need to find a clean hotel (at least to my own standard). How to get one? Usually a 4 to 5 star hotels are reasonably clean (read usually). But to stay in a 5 star hotel in Singapore is pretty much a crazy thing to do. Grand Hyatt Singapore for an instant. It will costs us a bomb. So I need another alternative which is; clean hotels may come from a newly operational hotel too. I was so lucky that my last minute search for a hotel finally gets me to know Carlton City Hotel which has just operated last August. I bet the bed sheet must be super clean, no stain mark on the curtains and carpets, the furniture fittings must be in good condition, the bathroom must be as clean as a whistle and bacteria spread might be in a reasonable quantity.

And yup. Our room condition was just as I expected. Alhamdulillah. The only drawback that we have encountered was the check in and check out process that took a bit longer than what we have experienced in other places. That is somehow acceptable as I believe the receptionists have only be in service for 3 months.

Main attraction. The giant flower petals chandelier at the main lobby. Magnificent!
It highlights such contemporary look unlike any other chandeliers I've seen in other hotels.
I guess everyone would be starstruck when they gets in the lobby for the first time.
Including us. Hehe.

Oh before I forget. We traveled to the hotel from Changi Airport by Maxi Cab, a 10-seater Mercedes Benz MPV! Oh dear.. It was so spacious and comfortable with a perfect outside view, Singapore is so green! I like it so much.. The kids lagi la. But then, at first we were a bit cuak jugak. Wondering how much would the taxi fare be. Last time we were riding an Alphard from Ascott Jakarta to Bandara Soekarno Hatta and the fare was expectantly expensive. Once arrived at the hotel we were quite surprised that the charge was only 20 dollars plus! Pheww..

Darling Amanda walking towards our room.

Hubby was excited to know that the room we shall be staying is numbered 1303. That is actually his birth-date! Ada 'ong' ah?? Heheh. Joking. They provide plenty of interesting channels unfortunately kids' channel are not available. Upon check in completion hubby requested a prayer mat but the hotel didn't provide it. It's not a big thing as we can use macam2 lagi kain untuk alas. But what touches me the most is that the friendly Muslim bell boy handed over us a sheet of prayer times in Singapore. Tho we can check the times as easy as a click on our phone but the nice thought really counts. Thank you mister, semoga Allah merahmati hidup kalian. Amin.

The king size bed as per requested. The room is reasonably spacious for us, with 2 small kids.

Cloudy Saturday. It was about to drizzle soon after this picture was snapped.
I love the 'para' at the big window as that was my kids' favorite place.
Mereka makan kat situ, panjat2 lompat2 kat situ. Tengok iPad sama2 pun kat situ. Hehe

The see-thru panel separating the bathroom from the room itself. Many hotels that we've stayed in has this kind of feature and we simply love it. If you are staying with kids obviously it's easier to monitor them when they are having fun in the bath tub and you suddenly need to settle some stuff at the other end of the room. And if you are staying without kids then I guess you can 'monitor' your partner doing his stuff too. You got what I mean? Haha

Oh ya. Another minor set back from the bathroom is coming from the tiles. They used the same white colored tiles from the floor to the walls. Safety issue here. As one can't differentiate the wet and dry tiles properly - you know when your kids started becoming hyper and splashing water all over the floor. Luckily we haven't encountered any unfortunate events as I've reminded my family several times each time they went to the bathroom, to be extra cautious when walking. You might slipped!

This hotel is located in a walking distance to Tanjong Pagar MRT. Boy the MRT service is good! We can go almost everywhere riding just train. And the kids love it. There a two outlets of 7-Eleven nearby (where we get our mineral water supplies, hotels only provide drinking water as always). There is also a 24/7 grocery shop just across the road. No worries mate, Singaporeans are very discipline human being. They will stop for pedestrians! and it's very CLEAN and you can get almost everything. We get our fruits, crackers, juices and Vitagen supplies from there. McDonald's and Mamak eatery are also few minutes walk from the hotel.

We might be coming back to Singapore once Ayra is 2 years plus of age. Seriously, 4 days aren't enough. Singapore has too much to offer! So, will we be staying here again? I'm not sure. To date we are fully satisfied with this hotel but I guess hubby may wants to change the location. To experience a new ambiance at a new place I think.

That's all for now!

Wafflemeister KLCC. Sinfully appetizing!

I went to KLCC three days ago during lunch break as I need to accompany hubby to get his new office pants and shirts. My mind simultaneously switch to Wafflemeister as a good friend of mine keep on posting the lip smacking pictures of those waffle on her IG lately. While on our way to have just-waffle-for-lunch (as both of us already had heavy breakfast earlier), I decided to stop him at the food court. Tetibe rasa nak makan something spicy. Tetibe u-turn ended up hubby had aglio olio and yours truly had spaghetti bolognaise. Haha. Then round2 beli seluar beli baju and all of a sudden Wafflemeister was exactly in front of us. How can someone resist such delicacies??

Thank you hubby for being very understanding and agreed to let me have it (you had few bites too right. hehe). I've never fond of whipped cream seriously. Even in my frappe I only have that if I'm sharing it with the husband. But boy.. The combination of their whipped cream, the sweetness of bananas, the special made waffle itself and the sprinkle of chopped nuts were beyond words. So sedap! Esok nak makan lagi lah..

Sila berdiri di atas weighing scale terlebih dahulu. Ok, I changed my mind.

Singapore Trip 2013. Arriving at Changi International Airport, Singapore (SIN)

Finally, we managed to run a family trip few weeks ago. Alhamdulillah. It went well as planned! This trip has been postponed for so long as we were seriously busy setting up our new house (we have just moved in early March this year). Moving in/out with lots of stuff in our previous home, not forgetting the kids' stuff was very draining us out. We took more than 10 days of leaves this year just to settle hal rumah. Haihh. I've even mentioning to dear the husband several times that I do not wish to experience anymore moving out process until the next 10 years! Huhu

Once we have settled almost 90% of the home related stuff, hubby pulak was so tight up with his work. Going out from KL is a big NO NO. Unlike me, I was so free that time as I had just finished with two accreditation processes (locally and internationally) but still have to wait until papa is over with his work. After a thorough discussion few days before his project finally ends, we've decided to choose Singapore for our first family trip berempat outside from KL. Our youngest daughter is already 19 months old and I think it's about time to bawak dia berjalan jauh sikit. If lesser than that tak kut!

Why Singapore?
  1. Because Singapore is the cleanest city in South East Asia region (this is the most important aspect for mama)
  2. Because Singapore serve big number of attraction for kids (this is the most important aspect for kids)
  3. Because halal food can be found everywhere (and this is definitely for papa)
  4. Because Singapore has the most efficient public transport in Asia
  5. Because Singapore has among the lowest crime rates in Asia
The only not-so-good part is the currency exchange rate. I believe many of us Malaysians are aware of this. Few videos went viral few months ago. Ringgit for 2.52 Sing Dollar sounds crazy tapi tutup sebelah mata jelah labu. Janji anak2 having fun..

We arrived at Terminal 2 Changi International Airport on Saturday morning (The traffic was extremely smooth. The airport cab was punctual as always, thanks!). We had breakfast at the airport and the kids fell asleep during the whole flight as they woke up real early that day in order to catch our 9.40am flight. We chose early flight as we planned to spent few hours in Changi Airport. Why? Because the airport (consisted of Terminal 1, 2 & 3) are sooooo huge! It is like a giant shopping mall with so many interesting stuff for adult and kids. Changi is also papa's favorite transit point. The FREE entertainment center is such a heavenly place for him during inbound/outbound journey.

In that picture above, Faheem had just passed his cranky mode as papa tried to carry him out from the plane while he dozed off (he only wanted mama to carry him). But I need to carry Ayra who was also sleeping on my lap. Mommy's boy.. Senang mengamuk dengan papa. Nasib baik la sekejap je. Heheh

From Terminal 2 we went to Terminal 3 and the Terminal 1. I seriously fell in love with Changi Airport. It was so much fun especially when when were bringing the kids together. I went to Singapore 5 years back for work and if I'm not mistaken there was only Terminal 1. It's great to know how the airport emerged over the years. Everything was very well maintained and clean. Including the toilets!

Langsung tak cranky sepanjang kat airport. Love them!

Kinetic rain in Terminal 1. I admire the system engineer who programmed this. Hehe

Holiday or not, push up is a must. He gets this from papa obviously. Haha

Having this huge play area in the airport?
Banyak kali Faheem ajak pergi sana luckily mama pandai distract.

Abang memang maintain nak duduk dlm stroller dari kecik. He only jumps out from the stroller kalau ada bende2 menarik that he wishes to have a look and play with. Dah bosan he will panjat stroller balik. His little sister is totally different from him. Stroller is a big NO when she's at a new place. She loves observing stuff by jalan sendiri je. Nak pimpin pun tak mau. Pastu kejap2 stop. Mama papa panggil buat tak dengar.

Found this and she stopped at that instant.
Luckily Ayra tak pandai nak mintak macam2 lagi. Heheh

On the sky-train (and in fact all over the airport) we will stumble upon these military services staff. Me and hubby were in awe looking at their camo uniform. It was so different from what we used to see all this while. It looks like small pixels in green color. Very detailed, very nice!

While these pictures were taken during our inbound journey on the last day. Syukur alhamdulillah our luggage cuma 'mengandung' saja dan bukan 'beranak' terus. The silver Samsonite (consisted of soiled clothes) weighed almost 25kg. Huhu. Sebab the main purpose of this trip is to let the kids having fun on school days, and not shopping. Pheww..

Memang bukan abang lah kalau tak usik adik. Pastu Ayra menjerit. Haihh

This OSIM foot massage was such a relived after 4 days of aggressively walking! Sedap sangat.. I saw the same unit at OSIM KLCC and it is being sold at RM2088. Kalau la RM500 memang rasa nak amik letak rumah je satu. Hishhh..

He insisted mama to snap his picture with pakcik Harrods.

Papa tak sabar2 nak pergi entertainment centre. Everything can be fully utilized for FREE!

On Tuesday, we flew back to KL leaving so many good memories in Kota Singa. We will surely return to Singapore one fine day as four days are not enough to visit so many interesting places they offered. More over, we were traveling in monsoon season and everyday-schedule needs to be planned accordingly in order to avoid us getting wet in the afternoon. More Singapore Trip posts will coming up soon!

Ayam Penyet Nusantara. A must try!

Work load is killing me. Like literally. It's 10am and I only had Starbucks' Choc Chip Cashew Nut Cookie with plain water for breakfast. So hungry but so malas to go to the cafe as due dates for few stuff are driving me crazy! Haihh.. I need to re-switch my mind for a moment. I wish those two delectable dishes down there are right on top of my table, in front of the PC now now now. Well, there is a newly opened eatery in our neighborhood, it's Ayam Penyet Nusantara. The portion was big, it tasted great (both ikan talapia and ayam penyet), the price was reasonable, the service was not bad and most importantly the premise is CLEAN as it is still new. This place is situated just beside Burger King in Wangsa Maju, near by Aeon Big Wangsa Maju (previously Carrefour).

I wish..

I wish..

That's all for now. I'm starving. I'm not in the mood.
Can't wait for lunch. Yummy yum yum lunchie..
 Now focus and berusaha!
